Capable Consulting
Linking People, Processes, and Performance
Organizations

Start with the problem. Then determine what will actually help.

Organizations rarely need another off-the-shelf program. They need to understand what is happening, what they are trying to accomplish, and what may be getting in the way.

Capable Consulting works with organizations to develop practical, customized approaches built around the situation—not around a predetermined solution.

How Capable Can Help

Different situations call for different approaches.

Every organization and situation is different. Capable Consulting works with organizations to shape the approach around the challenge, the people involved, and what needs to be accomplished.

01

Facilitation & Strategic Conversations

When people need to think together, make decisions, solve problems, or move an important conversation forward, an experienced outside facilitator can help create the structure and space to do it well.

02

Leadership & Team Development

Practical development for leaders and teams built around the challenges they are actually facing—not simply a predetermined curriculum.

03

Customized Training & Workshops

Interactive learning experiences designed or adapted around the organization, audience, and desired outcomes. Topics can range from communication and leadership to change, conflict, teamwork, and workplace performance.

04

Special Projects & Organizational Support

Some needs don't fit neatly into a category. Capable Consulting can provide experienced outside perspective and project-based support for organizational initiatives, people and performance challenges, change efforts, and other situations requiring focused expertise.

How We Work

Understand the situation. Shape the approach. Do the work.

Capable Consulting begins by understanding what is happening, what needs to change, and what a successful outcome should look like.

From there, the work is shaped around the organization, the people involved, and the outcomes that matter.

01

Understand

Start with the situation rather than a predetermined solution. Listen, ask questions, clarify the challenge, and identify what may be getting in the way.

02

Shape

Determine the approach that makes sense for the people, the organization, and the desired outcome. That may involve facilitation, development, training, coaching, or a combination of approaches.

03

Work

Put the approach into practice with an emphasis on participation, practical application, and useful outcomes—not simply completing a program.

Experience That Travels

Different environments. Different challenges. A broad view of how organizations work.

Dan brings more than three decades of experience working with people and organizations across business, government, and higher education.

His perspective has been shaped from more than one vantage point—as a consultant, facilitator, educator, manager, coach, and organizational development professional. He has worked both inside organizations and alongside them, helping leaders and teams address challenges involving people, performance, communication, change, and development.

That breadth matters. An approach that works in one organization may make little sense in another. Experience across different industries, cultures, and working environments helps Dan ask better questions, recognize patterns, and adapt the work to the situation at hand.
